Still Life Drawing
For my final piece, I used an HB pencil for the outline of the shapes and then created and filled in all of the shadows with a 6B pencil, making it take longer to draw, but essentially, easier. These were easier to work with than the vine charcoal that I used for my planning sketches and I feel it also made the piece look more appealing. Because I have had practice with gradation scales, the shadows and highlights were fun and easy to make, especially on the candle.
Planning Sketches
Because I liked my original layout of the objects, my third planning sketch was just another run through the first one to make sure I knew what I wanted and that I was capable of making my vision come to life. It definitely was not the best planning sketch, but it helped me create a final piece that I am proud of.
